From unit 3 till now several things have changed in my life. Physically I have started a new job, and working out is something I look forward to because it is something I love to do. I want to lose weight and learn how to stay healthy. It is not something you can do over night it is a process and it takes time. I am now a 5 in this area of physical because I am more active. Spiritually I am a 5 because I am getting closer to God and he is there when ever I need him. Our van stopped working, our sink started leaking under the sink, and we had no money to fix any of it, but by the grace of God we made it through. Believe in him is all the scripture says, and I do and who ever will listen I will tell them the story about how God saved my life. With these two working out the psychological comes right behind it my anxiety is better, I have not had an attack in weeks and my stress is in God's hands. He will not put more on my plate than I can handle. I do not worry about the small stuff they will work themselves out. By the grace of God we were able to get another car with a warrenty, we were able to fix the leaking sink by ourselves by replaceing a pipe. I could tell you all about the last 20 years from the day I got married but God knows all about my life and the troubles I have went through. I have forgiven the people in my past that have stabbed me in the back on a job, I have forgiven my dad for never being around and still does not even know he has grandchildren. I am not looking back, I am looking forward to a brighter future at the National Fitness Center. God Bless! This was a great class.
Hi Lettie,
ReplyDeleteOne extra bonus to this class is that I no longer feel that I am the only one with serious problems. Sometimes I would get so caught up in my own self-pity thinking that my problems are the end-all to problems with no way out. By reading other blogs I now understand that we all have difficulties to deal with...and I totally agree with you that God is the answer. I agree also that God never gives us more than we can handle, but I also now realize that God has given us many tools to help ourselves as He helps us too. I believe that this is His way. I remember an old story that I heard about a God-fearing man in a flood who went onto the tip of his roof as the water kept climbing. Three boats came by, each inhabitant calling the man to come and be rescued but the man kept calling back...don't worry about me...God will save me. Well, the man drowned and when he got up to heaven, he asked God, "Why didn't you save me, Lord, I believed that you would?" God replied, "I did. I sent you three boats!" This is how I feel about the practices and all of the information that we received this semester. They are definite ways to lead us to flourishing health, our God-given right. All we have to do us use them. Good luck to us all.
Jen.
Hi Lettie,
ReplyDeleteI think this class has helped me to realize that the path to integral health is never ending. Prior to the start of the term, my grandfather had passed and I was already prepared to handle my grandmother going too, but my sister threw a monkey wrench into the mix. By doing these exercises, it helped me to handle things much better. Good luck in your future classes :)
Hi Lettie, I am happy to hear that you are feeling better with your anxiety! You are a strong individual who from what I have read in your posts, has been through a lot. Just because life can make a turn for the worst sometimes does not mean that it is your fault. Bad things happen to good people, but it is how they overcome it that makes them who you are. I wish you the best in your future endeavors!
